Signs of the Seasons
For months now, summer-time has been toasting love-bugs
on the hood of your car. But, this morning it feels a bit cooler and
dryer. In fact, maybe your summer-time allergies have eased up today.
As you step outside, instead of an oppressive blanket of
humidity, there's a cool, northern breeze. "AHHH! Christmas must be
coming soon."
As the signs of the times alert us to what is to come as far
as the weather, they also show us signs of what's soon to come in the
way of Jesus' return.
Are you ready?
From the Director: Daniel Ellison
CITA
Rescue Mission has been serving the homeless and needy for the past 39
years.
It's no secret that no government funds were ever used to
operate. It has been the Living God that has provided and directed the whole
time. You see we believe He has a heart for the hurting folks and it has
been a privilege to partner with Him in his work.
The mission stands as a monument to the mighty work of God.
Our founders; Johnny and Helen Ellison, believed the Lord would have them
bring the Gospel to folks whom the church would normally overlook; the
homeless.
Our focus remains the same. We attend to the needs of up to
70 men per day, with programs that meet the needs of those with chemical
dependencies, and also of those that just need a place to stay until
they get back up on their feet.
We still have the desire to reach women and children and
families. Pray with us on this issue. We have a lady that is ready to start
up a CITA for women and we are excited about the opportunity.
Our need for that ministry would be a location (we have
looked at 2 potential locations so far), financial resources, and persons
that would do hands on work.
It's a big step, especially now. But God is able to do above
all that we could ask for or think.
Would you pray and ask God what part He has for you in this
ministry? I certainly count it a blessing to be able to serve the Master
with you and covet your prayers especially.
