This
Building has quite the history with Melbourne as The Hotel Richards.
Three stories and about 100 rooms, this building had the capacity of
housing nearly the entire population of Melbourne during it's beginning
back in the day.
After speaking with some of the old time locals, The Hotel Richards seems to have been the
location court was held as well as a major Hotel. One local remembered
her neighbor paying a court fine with a couple of chickens.
Once CITA purchased the building, the name changed to CITA Rescue
Mission. It then became the new location for CITA Rescue Mission. The
original CITA Mission in Malabar then returned to be a single family
dwelling.
